Mission Possible serves three primary groups:

  1. Haitian refugees who have fled to the Dominican Republic
  2. The poorest of the poor in the Dominican Republic
  3. The community of religious sisters who sponsor a network of medical care and community development in and among the community of poor in Higuey

We provide support across five different areas:

Health Care

  • Providing basic care for the poor
  • Ongoing health awareness education
  • Construction and staffing of a Clinic that will allow ongoing care
  • Resources for Caritas Care Center in the city of Higuey along with appropriate supplies for the outpost clinic

Education

  • Completed and opened a five classroom school
  • Developing appropriate office and support for the school
  • Resource material for the school
  • Tutoring and Assistance programs during mission trips

Community Development

  • Construction of a Community Center
  • Development of a leadership group in the community
  • Mentoring and Modeling of community leaders in decision making
  • Development of a long term plan of sustainability

Economic Development

  • Construction and implementation of a chicken coop
  • Construction and implementation of a bakery and sewing shop
  • Construction and implementation of tilapia farm
  • Skill training of locals in skilled trades
  • Provide tools and supplies to locals
  • Construction of a wood shop for local craftsmen

Infrastructure

  • Development of a water system
  • Repair of Septic System
  • Garbage Collection
